Celebrate the season by reviving your space. Spring cleaning usually involves getting into all of the crevices and crannies we usually skip during a standard clean. Luckily, a lot of these tasks in your home only need to be done a few times a year. This could be the perfect time to tackle those items. Are you looking to give your home a spring cleaning, but don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered. It’s time to turn your home into a fresh canvas for spring.
1.) Move Everything Before you Clean
You’re not spring cleaning, if you’re only cleaning around things and not underneath them. Do you ever move your couch and are shocked to find the amount of dust and debris that have ended up there? You’re going to want to move things safely to ensure you don’t strain yourself. Ask a friend for help, or slide furniture on cloths to prevent floor scratching.
2.) Clean Out Dryer Vents
Clogged dryer vents can be dangerous and potentially cause an avoidable fire. It’s important to make sure that in addition to emptying your lint trap, you’re also keeping the duct itself clear and clean. Most dryer vents can be easily unscrewed and vacuumed out. If you have a deeper dryer duct, there are cleaning kits available that come with long hose attachments to thoroughly clean them

You are going to be appalled at the pile of dust you find on top of your ceiling fans and light fixtures. High vents will blow your While your fans and lights are turned off, use a Swiffer extendable duster to carefully remove the dust. If you need to stand on something, always remember to make sure your step ladders or chairs are locked in or secured safely
4.) Sort Through your Pantry and Cupboards
Spring is the perfect time to check your cupboards for food or spices that may have expired. Rice, pasta, and canned goods all have long shelf lives, but they all spoil eventually. Make more room for the delicious seasonal foods you’ll be cooking with this spring.
5.) Deep Clean Your Closets
Start by donating or tossing out anything you don’t see yourself wearing next year. For a full deep clean of your closet, you should remove your clothes, prior to starting. Start by dusting the ceiling, walls, and door frame. Wipe down your hanger rod, and finish by handwashing the baseboards, and vacuuming or mopping the floors.
6.) Wash your Wood Work and Doors
Spring is the perfect time to give your woodwork and doors a fresh coat of polish. This will make your furniture and woodwork smell and look fantastic. We recommend only using polish a few times a year to avoid excessive buildup that often becomes difficult to remove. If you’re not a fan of polish, you can simply use pine-sol, or a neutral cleaning solution.
7.) Clean out your Basement, Attic, or Garage
Sorting through your storage areas can be a daunting task. Have your tastes or needs changed since last year? Use this as an opportunity to evaluate what you really need to keep, and what is just wasting space. Could you picture your basement or attic as a more functional space? If so, it may be time to purge those areas, and create the space you need to make that a reality.
8.) Freshen up your Porch or Balcony
Nothing says spring, like spending time enjoying your outdoor space. Get ready for the warm weather by creating your own outside oasis by freshening up your porch. Wipe down, or hose off your railings, stairs, and mailbox. Sweep off your porch and remove any clutter or debris to make room for spring plants. Top it off by placing a beautiful spring wreath on your door.

You want to completely wash your windows inside and out. I recommend taking the screen completely out of the window and hosing it down. You can take care of your outside windows yourself by using window washing solution, a squeegee and a latter, or you can take the easy route and call a professional window cleaning company.
10.) Scrub Your Garbage Cans
Your garbage can is one of the dirtiest items in your home. Get rid of smelly odors by thoroughly cleaning your garbage cans.
